JOB DESCRIPTION

WillCo Tech is looking for a driven and talented Sr. Software Developer/DevOps to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is a polyglot that excels in multiple technologies, but is ideally able to operate proficiently building Ruby on Rails APIs and applications using modern JS frameworks like React and VUE. This role is further responsible for deploying product updates and managing cloud infrastructure in Azure. We spend our days developing world-class SaaS applications that drive revenue and growth for our products. We specialize in the area of cyber security workforce compliance for Federal and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with other developers and product managers to build features, fix issues, and scale web-based applications on both the front-end and back-end
Manage deployment and infrastructure in Azure cloud environment
Ensure technology standards and best practices are used on projects
Follow and improve quality assurance processes, including integration and system tests
Help shape and adhere to software development processes
Keep abreast of current and new industry trends, technologies, and software development methodologies
Assist in defining company standards for systems, equipment, and software
Share technological visions, opportunities, and risks both at the project level as well as company-wide

Qualifications

7+ years of experience working in web development, and extremely comfortable developing RESTful APIs (using Ruby on Rails or similar) and modern web apps
Proficiency deploying applications to Azure cloud environments
Prior background in product development is helpful, as well as the drive to learn new technology skills as needed
Proven ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and implement solutions
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships internally, and also with customers
Ability to bring practical experience and innovative ideas to successfully deliver Web and/or mobile solutions to the public domain
Ability to perform some systems administration and DevOps tasks as part of bringing a solution online
Actively participate in the developer and technology community and have knowledge of up-and-coming technological trends
BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or comparable education/experience; graduate degree is a plus
Experience building products for regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government) a plus, as is cybersecurity experience
