Reporting to the Director, Federal Government Sales, the position of Federal Sales Manager is responsible for new business revenue by identifying and building sales s/channels, teaming, and overall strategies to obtain new sales. The Federal Sales Manager will handle the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award. The Federal Sales Manager will manage activities from identification to award that will enable the growth of sales across the public sector and will strive to exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets.


The Federal Sales Manager will lead the execution of business development activities within the federal government and the DoD by identifying, cultivating and maturing relationships with the necessary channels that could assist in selling WillCo’s products. The core responsibility of the Sales Manager will be to drive new revenue growth of the WillCo Tech business.


Founded in 2005, WILLCOTECH works to enhance national security and force readiness for military and commercial enterprises with a suite of software capabilities surrounding the human element of cybersecurity. Along this mission, WILLCOTECH has come to deliver the largest cybersecurity workforce capability across the federal government and the Department of Defense (DoD). The CyberSTAR product is used by large and small agencies (Army, DCSA, etc) and has over 1 million active users tracking their certification, training, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform specific cyber roles in the DoD.

Location:WILLCOTECH is located in Akron, OH: For the right candidate, this position can be performed remotely with a heavy preference for those located near the Washington DC-Baltimore area depending on track record, skills, and qualifications.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
  • Identify potential opportunities, arrange meetings, initiating sales momentum, build proposals, and closing sales
  • Identify, establish and build relationships with organizations that will assist in the sales of WillCo’s products
  • Refine and progress the capture plan strategies
  • Attend Business Development meetings (kickoff, status, approval etc.)
  • Lead the team through the opportunities as a key point of contact communicating customer key requirements and potential risks
  • Work with the Federal Government sales team and service organization(s) to ensure that all efforts are aligned.
  • Work alongside executive leadership to identify, refine, and execute our DOD and Federal growth strategies
  • Assist with the identification of prospects in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) that have interest in WillCo’s commercial products
  • Achieve aggressive yearly sales targets and build opportunity pipelines for out years
  • Develop and execute effective business development/sales call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industries
  • Develop industry relationships and represent our company at industry events
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including other business development and capture team members, client executives, proposal managers, and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of capture strategies
  • Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and new business sales success
  • Engage actively in the Nation’s Capital cyber community. Candidates located near DC are preferred.
  • BA/BS degree is preferred
  • At least 6 years of experience in federal contracting/business development with a proven track record in our core areas of software sales, IT, Cyber
  • Active network of contacts relevant to the market and the Cybersecurity and/or workforce compliance industry is very helpful
  • Experience establishing and growing relationships via software channel ships
  • Proven track record in selling as an individual, growing revenue, developing and selling solutions, and executing strategic campaigns
  • Experience working with or in a small federal contracting/consulting business organization.
  • Experience building and maintaining high-level relationships and demonstrated ability to prospect and close new customers
