WillCo Technologies Has Released to the Department of Defense Their White Paper on IASTAR®
December 12, 2008, Kansas City, MO – WillCo Technologies, Inc. has released to the Department of Defense (DoD) their white paper concerning the DoD Directive 8570 (DoD 8570). The United States Army WillCo Technologies IASTAR® (Information Assurance System for Tracking Assessment and Reporting) as their sole information assurance (IA) compliance program for DoD 8570.
DoD 8570 is the DoD response to the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA). FISMA was passed in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks to strengthen the federal government and affiliates information technology (IT). IASTAR® is WillCo’s IA program for DoD 8570 compliance. For the Army, WillCo Technologies developed a customized version of IASTAR® – the Army Training and Certification Tracking System (ATCTS).
WillCo Technologies’ DoD 8570 IASTAR® White Paper was created to bring attention to the deficiencies of DoD 8570 compliance within the DoD. It offers the DoD a solution with IASTAR®. WillCo’s IASTAR® will identify, assess, align, and track the DoD IA workforce and then report said data.
